You can find relief from stress and anxiety

Through cognitive and mindfulness-based therapies, we teach people to have a productive relationship to stress and anxiety, allowing them to be informed by their emotions rather than letting emotions control them.

Help is Available

Hello,

My name is Keith Miller. I am a psychotherapist and licensed clinical social worker.

I have traveled across the country speaking about mental health and have published two books relationships and mental well-being.

I use systematic, mindfulness-based model of therapy called IFS, which is an evidence-based treatment for anxiety and stress-related health issues.

In 2007, I founded Keith Miller Counseling and I am very proud of the team of therapists I have put together to help people feeling just like you are. Our team continues to grow and serve the community, specializing in anxiety therapy and counseling.

What You Can Expect From Our Approach to Therapy

We pride ourselves in putting our clients first and using a collaborative, non-judgmental approach to address the root of emotional or behavioral symptoms. In order to achieve the best results with clients, we:

  • Use a building-block strategy to change entrenched psychological or behavioral patterns.
  • Work with creative methods to access previously unknown characteristics about yourself instead of revisiting information you already have.
  • Focus just on the issue most relevant to your goals.
  • Utilize experiential (in the moment) therapeutic tools to tap into how the brain learns emotionally.
  • Make adjustments in the approach we are using if either of us notice that your goals aren’t being addressed.

These are just a few of the things to expect when working with our experienced team. Our licensed therapists work hard to serve clients and improve their lives.

Frequently Asked Questions

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and forced shutdown of many businesses, we began offering online counseling sessions to new and existing clients in order to better serve the community.

We plan on continuing to offer online sessions even after businesses start to reopen, but clients will have be given the option of meeting with their counselor face-to-face or through online virtual sessions. They will even be able to alternate between face-to-face and online sessions for their convenience.

Keith Miller & Associates Counseling does not accept insurance, however many of our clients submit their own claims for “out-of-network” reimbursement and often receive 40-60% of the expense.

All counselors fees are $180-$240 for 50 minute sessions.
Psychiatry: $450 for 90 minute intake sessions and $200-$300 for follow-up visits.
Sessions with Keith Miller are limited but may be available upon request; $350 for 60 minutes or $265 for 45 minutes.

We have two offices.

One is located in Washinton, D.C. near DuPont Circle, conveniently less than a block away from the Metro station.

Our second office is located in downtown Bethesda, which is a ten-minute walk from either the Bethesda or N.I.H. Metro stations.
