Seminar: Integrate Mindfulness with Couples Therapy

Professional Training for Psychotherapists

Practical Tools to Help Couples in Crisis

Do you want to be more effective helping couples in conflict in your practice? Do you wonder how in the world you could use mindfulness—an individual-based intervention—with couples?

This unique training will teach you how mindfulness literally disarms the hostility and stress that most therapists dread about seeing couples in crisis and how you can relax and enjoy this challenging therapy.

This seminar shows you how to use mindfulness to disarm criticism and negativity
in a relationship. Special attention will be given to the common conundrum of
mindfulness-based therapies: Most clients in crisis (especially couples) don’t enter
therapy seeking to learn mindfulness or meditation. We’ll discuss how defaulting
to advice and solution-oriented therapy during crisis intervention with couples can
throw gasoline on the fire. Your clients can experience the pleasure of discovering
new capacities within themselves and feel hope in the midst of struggle in their
relationship.

Attend this workshop and you will learn the core skills of mindfulness that most
readily translate into a clear conceptual framework for therapy interventions with
couples. You’ll be introduced to easily learnable elements from the most popular
couples therapy treatments today and get practical steps to blend mindfulness with
strategies from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), The Gottman Method couples
therapy, and IMAGO Relationship Therapy.

Mindfulness training for psychoterapistsKeith Miller’s engaging, interactive presentation includes demonstrations and

techniques that bring relief and healing to couples.
