Part-time contract position for remote receptionist and office assistant for Keith Miller & Associates Counseling, a growing mental health practice in DC and Bethesda, MD. Primary duties include being first point of contact for all potential referral inquiries to our practice. Other duties include assisting the director with online and offline marketing projects. Position is 15 hours per week.

YOU: Are a warm and caring person who enjoys helping people by answering phone and email inquiries for our group counseling practice. Our clients make that first call and are often feeling anxious and in need a caring presence to ease the way. We’re seeking a competent, compassionate, articulate person with excellent communications skills to help potential clients feel safe and validated in reaching out to begin therapy.
YOU: Would enjoy being our clients’ first point of contact and make it easy for them to feel heard and understood. Your warm, friendly and professional manner would help calm them and make it easier to start their healing journey.
YOU: Understand the value of psychotherapy and convey that to clients.
YOU: Have excellent verbal and writing skills, good grammar and spelling.
YOU: Are tech-skilled to easily use Google Drive and other electronic databases. You can schedule clients for our group practice using google calendar.
YOU: Like efficiency and find ways to improve our intake and referral system. You like keeping records and can help us create more effective data collection to measure our marketing efforts and the success of our counselors converting referrals to regular clients.
YOU: Are able to work independently, carry a smart phone and can answer the phone when it rings before voice mail takes the call. You have very reliable internet access and understand HIPAA privacy requirements. You can quickly get to know our counselors personalities, their clinical strengths and have basic idea of which kind of clients will succeed with them. You’ll also determine the schedule options for the client and make the best decision about where a referral should be placed. You’ll talk to clients anywhere you have privacy and quiet. Your home office has a quiet ambiance without background noise or interruption. Ideally, you have a home business and are willing to keep regular business hours.
YOU: Have some experience and interest in helping promote our business through online and offline marketing projects.
YOU: Value opportunities for growth in your position through ongoing training, feedback and mentorship.
YOU: Are VERY organized, systematic and enjoy keeping track of details. You are an effective self-starter and self-manager. College education is a plus especially in the field of psychology or social work.
YOU: Can work part time and already have a home-based business and are open to opportunity for advancement.
