Keith Miller & Associates is offering an opportunity to quickly build your full-time or part-time counseling practice with private-fee-only, adult clientele in a lovely and convenient, downtown DC.
Keith Miller and Associates Counseling (www.KeithMillerCounseling.com, www.BethesdaCouplesCounseling.com and www.dcGayCouplesTherapist.com) is a growing private practice that especially serves couples as well as individuals with a wide range of treatment needs. We are currently seeking a self-motivated applicant for a part-time contract position with consistent availability on evening hours, in addition to one weekend day possibly.
This position requires a clinician with an independent DC license that a strong ability to connect with a wide variety of clients. Post-graduate clinical training is an important consideration for the successful candidate as well as the ability to attune not just to the client but to your own emotional states during therapy. Must have strong interest and competency in treating couples. Training in the treatment of trauma-related symptoms is a plus.
The position is a part-time subcontracting opportunity that can grow quickly into full-time. Keith Miller and Associates provides strategic marketing for your practice based on an established online and local reputation that has the potential to help you build and shape your ideal practice.
Qualifications: 1) Graduate degree in clinical mental health; 2) Significant post-graduate psychotherapy training in treatment modalities 3) Post-graduate experience as psychotherapist in private practice. 4) The candidate must have an independent DC license in one of the counseling professions (social worker, psychologist, marriage and family therapist, licensed professional counselor, psychiatrist, etc.). 4) Working evenings and one weekend day is required, with the option to take on more and more week-daytime hours as your practice becomes established.
Clinicians with specializations in any of the following areas are preferred: client-centered therapies, experiential (emotion-focused) couples therapy, mindfulness-based therapy (such as IFS, somatic experiencing, sensory- motor, or DBT), couples therapy, and sex therapy. Clinicians who also have undertaken experiential post-grad psychotherapy training (i.e., learning that focuses on applying techniques to you personally, not just academic learning) is also highly preferred (personal therapy counts!)
