 Anorexia Treatment DC Counseling

Eating disorder counseling works to help you understand how your habits with food and controlling your body are linked to emotions. Your counselor works as an advocate for you to help you learn to express difficult emotions in a healthy way. Our counselors are patient, skilled, and experience and can provide the environment you need to feel comfortable and to be able to let your guard down. Developing healthy habits around food and nutrition is also a part of our anorexia treatment DC counseling.

Eating disorders are physically dangerous, therefore strict compliance can often be included in various counseling styles. This can feel coercive and emotionally unsafe. Nutrition and physical safety is important, and our therapists will take your health seriously. However, you can work with an experienced counselor here that knows that your feelings matter. When there is safety, trust and room for creativity in your treatment, you’ll be more successful in letting go of the habits that are detrimental to you.
