Therapeutic Interests and Experience
I served on active duty in the U.S. Army and as a federal government civilian with the U.S. Marine Corps Special Operations Command. Counseling military personnel and their families is one of my special interests, along with intensive clinical experience in substance abuse addiction.
I owe a debt of gratitude to my Tunisian-born wife who has provided me with insights into intercultural marriages as well as step-family dynamics. This gift has allowed me to expand my therapeutic skills and interests to include these two areas. My clinical research background has involved step-family issues. I have presented a poster presentation on the topic of step-families at a national conference and look forward to contributing more research on this topic in the field of marriage and family therapy.
