Couples frequently describe infertility as a roller coaster ride. Expectations build as new treatments are considered, while any lack of success seems like a free fall. Although counselors often guide couples through the more predictable topics of stress management and grief in this work, they also may face issues of medical health psychology, gender role definition and even faith testing.
